ARISS News Release No. 26-49 Dr. Carlos Miranda Appointed Director of Education for ARISS-USA

August 17, 2026 – ARISS-USA is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Carlos Miranda as its new Director of Education for Amateur Radio on the International Space Station (ARISS-USA). 

In this important role, Dr. Miranda will help advance ARISS-USA’s educational mission and expand opportunities for students and educators to engage with amateur radio, space exploration, and the International Space Station. He also brings more than 20 years of experience in formal and informal education, developing STEM programs, leading professional development, and creating meaningful, hands-on learning experiences for students and educators.

His leadership will support ARISS-USA’s continuing efforts to inspire the next generation of learners through authentic space-based educational experiences and the unique opportunities provided by amateur radio.

We congratulate Dr. Miranda on his appointment and welcome him to this important leadership role within ARISS-USA.
